Kory McAndrew is the Chief Executive Officer of Gambit ID. He is responsible for the company’s management, direction and performance. Kory has an unparalleled passion for innovation which he expresses and uses to guide Gambit’s cutting edge technology solutions as its’ Chief Technology Officer. In so doing, Kory has positioned Gambit ID as one of Canada’s premier biometrics and identity management companies.
He has worked closely with the Government of Canada, including the department of Innovation, Science and Economic Development Canada (ISED), the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA), the department of Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC), and the Department of National Defence (DND). This work connects to his experience prior to founding Gambit ID in 2010, where Kory was a senior systems analyst at Fujitsu Consulting Inc. There he worked on National Security programs to support the Royal Canadian Mounted Police’s (RCMP) mandate to create the National Police Services National Institute of Standards and Technology (NPS-NIST) Server (NNS). This initiative now serves as the backbone for processing fingerprint-based Certified Criminal Record Check requests in Canada.
Kory holds a Bachelor of Mathematics, Computer Science (Honours) with a minor in History from the University of Waterloo, specializing in Applied Cryptography, Artificial Intelligence, Distributed Systems, and Database Management Systems.
Mike Upton is the Chief Information Officer (CIO) for Gambit ID. Mike has over 25 years of experience in the Information Technology sector, having worked on complex Identity management and biometric solutions for predominantly Canadian government customers. His experience extends from development to deployment, including work as a senior systems architect at Gambit ID.
Mike is responsible for the company's advanced technology solutions, project management and government customer solution delivery. In that capacity, Mike has delivered some of Canada's most complex biometric and identity management systems working with customers such as the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA), Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) and Shared Services Canada (SSC). In addition, Mike led Gambit ID's team to win a Build in Canada Innovation Program (BCIP) award for mobile biometrics. This award has been recognized for its innovation by the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP), the Department of National Defence (DND), CBSA and recently by Statistics Canada for Census 2021.
Before joining Gambit ID, Mike was the Director of Solution Architecture at Fujitsu Canada. While with Fujitsu, Mike was responsible for leading an on-site technical team working closely with the RCMP on the Real-Time Identification (RTID) Biometric Project. Mike was also responsible for winning an advanced biometric solution to Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada, which included a worldwide biometric solution as part of Canada’s secure Visa-Visitor Program.
Mike holds a Bachelor of Commerce with a specialization in Computer Science from the University of Ottawa.
Kristen Morton is the Chief Operating Officer at Gambit ID. She is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the company's numerous fingerprinting locations within Canada.
Kristen began her career with Gambit ID as a fingerprint administrator. She moved on to lead business analyst, where she successfully led the design, testing, and support to a nationwide biometric project that involved processing 80,000 security screening transactions. Her operational experience and business acumen grew to where she assumed the position of Head of Operations. In this position she continued to excel and was subsequently promoted to the position of Chief Operating Officer, where she has been able to expand Gambit’s business opportunities and partnerships worldwide.
Kristen is a graduate of Carleton University, where she studied Political Science and Law, specializing in International Relations.
